Thomas Bruderer | | 2010-today | Software Engineer, Qnective | | 2009-2010 | Software Engineer, digitec | | 2008-now | Activity in several open source software (OSS) projects, some of which I developed on my own, e.g. Zensorchecker which was used by Swiss KOBIK to generate and later publish a list of censored websites. | | 2008 | World trip (Eastern Europe, Asia, Trans-Siberian Railway) | | 2006-2008 | Internship/software engineer (QA software project / Linux kernel development) at BridgeCo AG | | 2003-2007 | University politics (VIS/VSETH/VSH-AES): Worked on several parliamentary levels at ETH and also nationally. Gained exciting insights, but it was also very frustrating at times. Unfortunately, VSH has meanwhile dissolved on the national level. | | 2001-2008 | MSc ETH in Computer Science (in Theoretical Computation) |

| Interests: | I have broad interests in politics, economics, technology, science and other social topics. I like photography, write programs not just for the money and have contributed to a multitude of OSS projects actively. I have aquired a broad spectrum of knowledge autodidactically and enjoy using it in hot and controversial discussions in which I usually prefer to take the side of the underdog. |
| Party interests: | My priorities are clearly set on copyright law. The usual answers in that area are insufficient, not just on the part of the music industry. To date, the critics have not found a pragmatic solution concerning the balance between creators and consumers either. My social liberal basic attitude touches on all political topics, e.g. in relation to Europe, energy or sexuality. For me, those answers are important which solve today's problems with the answers of tomorrow. |
