Today at 10am, WikiLeaks announced a move to Switzerland 1. "We are not informed about WikiLeak's motive or their plans. Fact is, wikileaks.ch is registered by us" says Denis Simonet, president of the party 2. The domain is in possesion of the party since June 2010 and forwards requests to the WikiLeaks project 3. Today at 6pm CET, the Pirate Party Switzerland holds a press conference in Biel to answer further questions (Communication Center, 3rd floor, Brainpool).
The wikileaks.org entries were deleted by nameserver provider EveryDNS.net. The Swiss domain is enlisted on the same server, which might mean it eventually reaches the same faith. Internal discussions about possible moves of the entries to another provider are ongoing.
The Swiss Pirate Party seeks to fortify the reputation of Switzerland as a safe harbor for freedom of press, democratic control and human rights. Broad publication of sensitive material without reservation holds chances, but also many risks. Freedom of information is an important basis for a peaceful society in a just world. The activities of the WikiLeaks project pose a challenge for both the ruling system and the defenders of transparency. We are in the middle of a revolution of information.
All I can only say that actions speak louder then words...with all the drama that's been going on and the US getting caught with theire hands in everyone elses cookie jars they just couldn't be humble could they. Uncle Sam you think we are all friggin stupid (oh sorry you like to think and take actions to make sure we a re all dumbed down)...Your actions behind the scenes have your fingerprints all over it. Like we know you're behind the rape charges, behind all the web page crashes, behind the PayPal drama and.......on and on and on we go...its become so obvious its predictable...you're a pro at threatening people/orgs/countries into submission. The USA regime, like Rome, is on the verge of crashing...and the balance of power will I hope even out some!
